My name means "little dark one" in Italian. In Hinduism, Kiaya is a Goddess of the sky and the wife of Lord Vishnu. Kiaya is also a Sanskrit word that means "the pure one" or "the clean one". In some African cultures, Kiaya is a name that symbolizes grace and elegance. In Hawaiin, Sea. My mother gave it to me with the meaning Sacred Friend. Conjuring from a wide variety of influences. My mother gave birth to me in a cabin in Rappahannock County. She is an herbalist horse whisperer and my late father was a musical carpenter. In my early childhood, we traveled the west in a silver airstream, with 2 dogs and a cat. We returned home to have my sister in Rappahannock. My sister and I grew up on horseback herding goats by day, dancing on full moon nights, and swimming in the crystal blue springs of Old Rag Mountain whenever the water beckoned.

I did not attend a “traditional” school until I was fifteen, and would go on to graduate with distinction from the University of Virginia with a degree in Anthropology and Linguistics.

In this 90 minute session:

We work together with the magic of song & storytelling to explore personal lore and unlock insight into mythos + frequency. I Intuitively approach this offering with a background in song, story, cultural anthropology and linguistics. I align with Author and Psychologist Thomas Moore's view of storytelling: as a way to understand and connect with our inner selves and the deeper meaning of life. Let's sing your sacred story. I come to storytelling & song with sacred regard to its power in shaping human experience and existence.

I hold space for voices. I give folks a container to sing their stories. I have used this magick throughout my life. During times of joy to spread love and excitement, times of grief to release sadness, and in transforming pain into power i.e. unmedicated childbirth.
